Depentent clauses are a group of words that contain a subject and verb but on the other hand it does not explain a complete thought. These dependent clauses can NOT be full sentences and come marked by a certain word in the beginning to show it is a dependent clause.

Example: When my sister tried to play the guitar...

The word that i mentioned that show that the example above is "When". If you take when out you get "My sister tried to play the guitar." which is a complete sentence. A way to fix the example above isnt hard. A way to fix it includes:

"When my sister tried to play the guitar, she didn't do very good.

That makes the sentences complete. The way it does this is by combining the dependent clause with an independent clause. The independent clause "She didn't do very good" is what fixed the sentence.

Tip- Using commas often helps with coming independent clauses with dependent clauses. The sentence i used in the example above is a perfect way to show that commas help with doing this task.
